It says that I am "just barely" a Yankee. This disturbs me. I'm going out to buy some Gore-Tex and a Volvo.

I'm just barely a yankee too, but I grew up in several states, so my vocabulary is a hodge-podge, I guess.

I think I only had two answers that favored the south, though. The majority were Great Lakes/Northeast (I spent a lot of time in Michigan), and Western U.S. (I now live in California). I guess those "common everywhere" answers aren't weighted much.

Uh, I don't say "You all, Youse, You'uns" nor "Y'all". You is both plural and singular. These guys are dumbfucks.

Also, I have to contend that their roly poly potato bug thing is wrong. I lived in washington (state) when I was 8 years old, and called it a potato bug, and when I moved down to California, it was a roly poly. Then I moved to Tennessee (the southeast, where they claim Roly poly is big) and they call it a potato bug. So, this test is pretty much a bunch of bunk. I've lived all over this country, the only thing I think they got right was "coke" being used in place of soda in the south, and pop being used in the northwest (Washington I picked up pop, New York I picked up soda, TN i picked up Coke.)

This is rather odd, considering it's labelled me as 62% Southern when I've never lived anywhere lower than the Bronx.

It think I got 62% too. I am souther than you all anyway.

57% (Dixie). Barely into the Dixie category.

You don't have to be from the south to be somewhat southern. A lot of people around here migrated from the south.

46% Yankee. Go figure.
