Picross
Picross, a combination of "picture" and "crossword". Use the numbers in the columns and rows to determine what squares are filled and what are not to reveal a picture and solve the puzzle.

The user interface sucks, but I managed to solve all 16 featured puzzles. I can't imagine actually trying to do the larger ones on a Wii, because the boxes are so small. Sure, you can zoom in, but you still have to see the row and column numbers.
Yeah I play them all on PC. As for the interface, it's better than the ones that don't let you mark a box as known to be unfilled. Those are just impossible to play thebig ones (like 20x20)
Needs a ? mark like Minesweeper though...
It wouldn't really help that much since squares are either definitely "on", definitely "off" or there's no way to tell. It's a game of certainties, there's no chance element like in Minesweeper.
It would help immensely when the obvious strategies have dead ended and you have to resort to looking for contradictions. I had one where I had to write down my progress in the unsolved area so I could reset it when my first "what if" didn't pan out.
