The concept is good but the game play is slow as molasses. Terribly unrealistic as well, often a non-lethal disease with no symptoms will cause countries to start burning bodies and shutting down borders.

I played through this a while back; Madagascar is your new, greatest enemy.

Fuck lemurs.
(Everybody knows that they're the driving force of Madagascar, and made the decision to be a dick country.)

Madagascar sucks. EVERYONE is infected for me... except Madagascar.

I got greedy. But did kill everyone in South America before the world got hip to my jive.

This game is on Kongregate and one of the badges has you wipe out the entire population in less than 100 days. Seems impossible but it is possible. Basically you have to play as virus and start in one of a few certain countries. You need to sell your starting symptom and buy only sneezing (unless you start with sneezing) and one heat, moisture and cold resistance (no drug). Wait around until your disease spreads to a few countries and then sell sneezing. Then just wait until every country is infected (Madagascar usually takes the longest and if it shuts its borders you have to start over). Once they're all infected you buy coughing and vomiting to crank up the number of infections wait a few days then buy a bunch of highly fatal symptoms, 4 drug resistance and if you have any stats left over you can get the other forms of transmission.

It's really getting all the countries that's the hard part. You pretty much just have to lay low for the first 20-30 days. Even if it doesn't say it will raise your visibility, most things will.

It's kind of a stupid game in that it's all pretty much based on luck and even the winning strategy takes a few tries. Only way I could do it was to start in Madagascar and even then it took 20 days before the disease even left the country. Stupid fucking Kong didn't even give me my badge...

Damn you, Madagascar!!! Good game, could use some tweaks but lots of potential.

I felt like such a badass when the vaccine doctors would try to combat me with failed.

Virus names, GO!

Electric Gonorrhea

Damn you life! I saw this on a buddy's LJ and I was going to post it here!

Nonetheless, I don't like how -all- the that connect to one another (like, say, Canada and the U.S.) are immune to rats, insects and people crossing to infect everyone else. But that's just me.

I had a helluva time as a virus, but I killed the world in less than a year by being a parasite! Even Madagascar wasn't immune to my little minions!

Sadly, it brought me such great joy to see Canada fall, when it was one of the most steadfast countries during my previous attempts. Even the U.S. fell under my viral touch.

I've infected every single person, except anyone in Madagascar. No one's died yet, and there's no chance of a vaccine being created. I'm not going to quit playing just on the off chance that somehow the disease will spread to Madagascar.

yeah I obsessed with this "game" for a few days.. could only do the realistic mode in 105 days, so I gave up on the badge. This is sooooo 2 weeks ago =P

I feel like the anti-House.

Aug 9th

So that means it -can- be Lupus?

Aug 9th

Its never lupus.

Or is it? Shhhhhhh.

Six hours at work, but a 75-day score. Spelling errors sure make me want to wipe out the population.
Also, the game's flaws really hold it down. So happy the in4mador virus started in Madagascar!
