Optimus Keyboard This is the future... A new keyboard with an LCD screen for each key, responding to an individual's particular computing needs. posted to gadgets -> gadgets by Quigles, Jul 17th, 2005
Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is just a design and 3d render there is no actual product or even prototype. Good idea and visuals though. However if ever developed and sold, it would cost a small fortune.
Oddly enough, I think a lot could be done with minigames with the keyboard itself. As though it were a monitor? I just imagine using it as a missle command touch screen or something.
Pure awesomeness in keyboard form.
Could be especially useful for games.
Really cool.
You could make mosaics and everything. Soon there'll be a keyboard mosiacs site.

I would be quite expensive, this much I can be sure of, but fuck, wouldn't it kick ass?? Games would instantly be easier to control!

to anyone that questions this product...
check out the other pages in the link. They answer many questions in the ANSWERS page:
-It’s in the initial stage of production.
-We hope it will be released in 2006.
-It will cost less than a good mobile phone.
ETC
plus they have a lot of bigger pics to check out in the PRESS section
Those pictures are of the real thing. There's no way that's a 3D render.

Exellent that is actually being made. I should have rtfa.. 2-300$ is still a nice chunk, but I'd probably still buy one.
However, I still think those graphics are a 3d render. The larger close up pics are just too perfect. Probably hdri.

All 3d rendered. Plus I've seen others that makes these look like a cartoon drawing.
Bad links, try these.
