Once in a while when viewing someone else's saved file I would see that "pay for membership" thing too. I think it's only supposed to be for user created levels. (I didn't pay for access so I don't know what it does).
I think there might be a glitch where it demands payment when you shouldn't need it..or maybe it's them just asking for sweet, delicious monies.
There is definitely something very creepy about the game. When you create something that doesn't work, and watch it blindly scrabbling away with its misshapen limbs, before toppling onto its back and flailing helplessly at the sky, you can almost imagine it whispering "kill me... please...".
There are solutions to that one that consist of only five pieces, but mine is what you get from trying something, seeing where it fails, then changing a bit, ad nauseum.
Fun. But the damn interface isn't keeping track correctly of which levels I've solved, now it's telling me I never solved most of the first page of them, and ones I've never solved but simply looked at others' solutions are showing as solved.
I just got done with "Up the Stairs"
Here are some of my favorite solutions so far:

I had to create a hideous whaleopitter to get up those stairs. It has a little creepy watching it digest the orange balls as it walked over them.

also this: http://fantasticcontraption.com/?designId=2004643
Of course I just noticed you could save your own: http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=2432445
you sir, are a witch!
My "up the stairs" takes 99 seconds to complete!

The links don't work. Something about restricted access, and needing to buy the whole game, which I don't plan on doing.
This has been on Kong for a while now. That being said, here's my best.

And jBot, it never did that to me, I don't know why it's doing that to you.
I got bored after a while, so I'd never buy the full game. It also needs a proper volume control rather than on/off.
huh, i assumed this must be here by now.
it's cool but i'm too thick for it

Here's my solution to this damned level:

Here's my progress on this level:

I like it because it looks like it's alive and struggling desperately not to die
Spoiler alert: it does die
Just did this one:

allenhenderson: wow. that's brilliant. makes the little conveyor I was so proud of seem sort of sad. heh

I just did this one. The best part is if you keep watching after the level ends, the main bridge goes on a smoke break and starts walking away.

a witch I say!
Holy god now I can stop playing this game: http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=2491269
This one was strangely easy after that last one, this was my first try http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=2493612
Worked on this for an hour, no luck. Then bashed something together for a lark, went into the other room for a sec and came back to a victory screen.

I was working on simplifying the all-terrain contraption: http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=2540735
Another one: http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=2541160
Third momentum crawler http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=2542298
This takes a little bit, but you can see the pendulum device clearly saving the day on the last step http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=2542795

It's great though.

There's my basic way of doing that level.
I'm fairly new at this though, and not all that good at it.
I didn't go to sleep until 4am this morning because of this damn game.
Oh this thing took me multiple hours and multiple design schemes... yet it's so simple.
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=2569122
This looks like some random thing I made, but it works.
@Bargantuan: Absolutely amazing solution. Mine ended up looking like something Rube Goldberg would reject for being too complicated.
Yeah that worked out great
Holy efficiency Barg.. that invention may have just blown my mind =P

You get what you pay for?
Great find allenhenderson, this is hours of fun. A couple of my friends are hooked on it now too.
In the tradition of Bargaintuan, I present my solution to Back and Forth:
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=2938112
Cool, but mine is more contraptiony.
Some people go for the simple, but I find it more fun to make something horrible and have it actually work.
