I agree. But then I realized, you can get a good estimate when playing vs. the computer by paying attention to it's numbers first.
But yeah, you should be able to visually see the distance between you and the target.
It can take a little work to gauge things when you have two variables to work with, but you can usually always shoot at full power and then just tweak your angle. Once you hit the other guy you just keep pegging away while he seems to miss a fair amount. Or you could just shoot yourself in the head like Rusty suggested.
If you go into the settings you can add in a wall or wind. Be nice if you could also customize the distance a little bit (say if you want a short, medium or long distance).
thank you gabu for showing us your immensely superior mathematical knowledge. unfortunately this information is completely useless to us because as you said, they dont tell you the distance. but still, thank you.
I found an odd glitch, when playing practice or against the computer or somthing, right-click and click "play" then suddenly, for an example, your playing practice and you click "play" you might suddenly switch to playing against the computer.
I've played this one before. I hate how it's almost impossible to judge the distance the opponent is from you.

So you're just shooting an arrow into empty space, is that it?
Because THAT'S AWESOME!!!
*thunk* (cleanly arrows Finley)
90º and full power...
Hits 'em every time (there's no wind)...

I have concluded that it's impossible to win purely through groin shots.
Also, I sort of see why they don't tell you how far away the other guy is. There's an equation in physics that reads as follows:
x = [sin (2t) (v_i)^2]/g
where
x = distance a projectile goes
t = initial angle of the projectile's motion
v_i = initial velocity of the projectile
g = acceleration due to gravity
If you solve for t, you get that
t = arcsin[x g/(v_i)^2]/2
If you plug in x, g (probably 10 px/s) and v_i = 100, then you immediately get the angle that will hit the guy every time.

*shoots rerednaw in the groin*
I think it's safe to say that the guy is slightly more durable in practice mode.
This thread is better than the game.

That glitch can be found in almost any Flash game though.
oh...
Certaintly better than the minilympics bow game. The blood is soo awesome! And i shot myself in da head with the wind on.
I like it!
