Indeed. Cardboard can be a really awesome if you use it well. I used to work in the parts department of a garage, and sometimes we received crates which used 2"X 2"X 2" cubes of zigzagging upright cardboard with 2 flat pieces on top and bottom as legs. 9 of these could hold loads between 200 and 500 pounds.
