1. Hit PRINT SCREEN on your keyboard.
2. Open Microsoft Paint (comes with Windows)
3. Hit CTRL-V to paste the screen.
4. Click the dotted-line square on the left.
5. Select the portion of the image you want to keep.
6. Hit CTRL-C to copy that section.
7. Choose File->New, and don't worry about saving.
8. CTRL-V to paste the selection you copied.
9. Use your mouse to re-size the white square the image is sitting on, until it's nice and square around your image.
10. Hit CTRL-W to open the "stretch/skew" dialogue box.
11. Set the width and height to about 50%. You can do Undo (the Edit menu) and try different percentages if you want.
12. Choose "Save As" from the File menu. Microsoft Paint can save as a JPG file these days, which is nice.
Well, you know, I just gave all the instructions 'cause it's not obvious how to cut out the avatar using Paint. They didn't put in a "crop" function. :-/
This is cool, BUT the email functionality doesn't work.... any help???
It dont work for me either.
I just used Paint Shop Pro to do a screen capture and then cropped it the way I wanted it....
I don't have that.But I might be able to do it with the regular Paint Shop.
