Yes.

Apparently anyone who isn't blind is fast enough to hit a major league fastball. I think there might be slightly more skill involved.

I am too! Not blind!

I have more reaction time in my index finger than some batters have in their upper bodies!

Wow... I got bored in 0.191 seconds! A NEW RECORD!!!

I went to a batting cage going 50 miles an hour. It was so fast and I got freaked out. Then I hid in the corner until the batting thing stopped. So I probably couldnt hit one going 90, not because I have low reaction time, just because things aimed at me going that fast scare me.

Beat myself, 0.0480!

This is all fine and dandy, it's just another one of those reaction tests. One thing it doesn't address is the fact that in real baseball it's a lot easier because there's a warning of the ball coming with the pitcher winding up. If something like this were to happen in real life, it would be like a pitcher throwing a pitch through a small hole at you at 100 miles an hour.

I wanna see the pitcher who can do that repeatedly.

Reaction time is only a small part of swinging at a fastball. How fast can you get your entire upper body to swivel, HARD, when your brain registers the ball?

Jun 17th, 2005

Yeah, the reaction time thing is important, but there's that other little matter of, you know, putting the bat on the ball ... thing ... you know.

Maybe it's like a funnel, so the pitcher doesn't have to be dead on.
