They're really good, but don't seem too helpful in what I assume is a guessing game (never played Draw Something myself)

Well it's cooperative in nature. you gotta guess what they drew and vice-versa. the harder the word, the more coins you get. so if he draws this:

It's pretty possible to tell that he's trying to portray tom hanks.

(You also get like a letter bank and it tells you how many letters it has to be)
