We should post some tunes, since I'm going first I'll post the first rubbish thing I made:
▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓
▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓
▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓
▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓
▓▓▓▓▓▓░▓▓▓▓▓░▓▓▓
▓▓▓▓▓░▓░▓░▓░▓░▓▓
▓▓▓▓░▓▓▓▓▓▓▓░▓░░
░░░▓▓▓▓▓░▓░░▓░▓▓
▓▓▓░▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓░░
░▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓░▓▓▓▓▓▓
▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓
▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓░▓
▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓
░▓▓▓░▓▓▓░▓▓▓░▓░▓
▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓
░▓▓▓░▓▓▓░▓▓░░▓░▓
And if those characters don't show up, I'm going to look pretty bad. Thanks, allen, very cool.

Oh neato. Right click and copy the tune.

If you paste that into a text field it will display a series of numbers. You can also paste it back into Tone Matrix.

0,3072,1040,16,16,784,256,256,0,0,768,384,384,2304,4096,4096

Crappy simple one, but it works :)

Apr 16th, 2009

Here's my couple of minutes well spent.

16450,0,69888,0,18946,4,37128,0,16512,0,33040,65536,33824,0,16912,0

Apr 16th, 2009

Unfortunately, no one can be told what the Tone Matrix is. You have to see it for yourself.

74784,74272,36896,70148,35074,34816,35076,67714,73760,65700,36898,65792,34832,33312,35392,65536

Interactive sequencer, basically. Neat.

Apr 16th, 2009

Neat.

65568,2048,1024,65536,2064,1024,65536,1024,65540,2048,1032,65536,2112,1024,65568,1024

Apr 16th, 2009

68436,21712,84774,46216,18778,70944,43220,17040,38250,17684,76360,33938,20488,70688,10826,38164

Too much going on at once? I dunno..

I like to play with this thing as though I was making the theme song for a cheezy 80's sci-fi/tech geek movie, like how they started with one note and evolved until it was a piece of music?

Apr 16th, 2009

its is very mesmerizing and calming.. I love it..

Apr 16th, 2009

I like to set up a beat and then riff upon that.

Apr 16th, 2009

Wow I feel stupid now XD
Here's the code for the song I posted earlier:
83200,256,256,512,82048,64,32,64,82176,1088,256,65856,82080,320,86656,640

Apr 16th, 2009

Well, I noticed it was 16x16, and decided I'd make a smiley. Here it is.

1920,6240,8208,16392,35204,37444,74114,73730,73730,74114,37444,35204,16392,8208,6240,1920

Then I decided to take some 16x16 game sprites, used a program to convert them to 1-bit (black and white) and then copied the design, where black pixels would be the tones that are active, and white would be inactive. So here's a green koopa shell from Super Mario World.

4608,4352,24736,41024,84128,83220,82432,82440,82440,82440,83220,84128,41024,24736,4352,4608

2,64,2312,20488,23552,12864,306,14592,288,4,17920,33824,50180,13824,16,3808

There's my little creation... This sounds like the music on the Wii menu.

Apr 17th, 2009

This doesn't really agree with my browser, but when it works, damn fine simplicity.

Also seconding that this sounds like Wii channel music

256,256,512,32768,33280,17408,0,17408,1024,17408,1536,448,16384,70144,16384,2112

Apr 18th, 2009

I don't like that it's hard to draw penii with blocks.. That was the first shape I tried to draw, naturally..

Writing names and stuff is fun.. Your own theme loop.

Apr 18th, 2009

Gah, it's broken.

Apr 18th, 2009

Yeah, I guess it would have been better to not link directly to the flash file.

Apr 18th, 2009

Doesn't work though. Damn.

Apr 18th, 2009

It exists in real.

Okay kids, now it's http://lab.andre-michelle.com/tonematrix .

Apr 18th, 2009

Oh, like Bujold said.

Looks like they have add-ons for it too. $?
