That probably wasn't a bad idea back before emails. Nice and easy, and at least you'd get a response, if rather impersonal. Better than nothing at all.

I wonder which letters prompted the "Please do not write to me again." reply.

I so wished I would have written him before he died, I would treasure that letter forever.

[x] But a zombie bear should only go after other bears

I just reread the letter in fear I had missed that line.

I like the post about 12 weakest deaths in sci-fi history.. And agree that Boba Fett and multiple Jedi should be on there :)

Sep 17th, 2008

Ya, and I disagree about Boba Fett... since he managed to escape (good ol' expanded universe)

What about Data in Nemesis??? Captain's close friend jumping into radiation pit to save ship from explosion while leaving his memories in another body... part 2!?

Nemesis shouldn't even count as Star Trek.

Not for any conventional reasons. I mean, yeah it had all the major players, including Janeway.

But I just think that if it sucks that bad, it shouldnt be considered Star Trek

For anyone trying to get into Heinlein I do not recommend the un-edited version of Stranger in a Strange Land. I left it floating in a toilet and have yet to pick up another Heinlein novel.

Now I know why all three of his editor blew their brains out.

Yeah, he's not for anyone averse to unconventional thinking.

... I loved everything he ever wrote, myself.

Sep 21st, 2008

Yeah it was his unconventional thinking I disliked. Not the pages of pages of self-important essays.

Sep 21st, 2008

In SiaSL?

Either way, self-important essays could be said to be conventional?

You lost me. Maybe it's just been too long since I read it.

Re: editors - cite, please?

It sounds like you haven't even read the version of Stranger in a Strange Land that I'm talking about.
